Can’t beat racing less than 5 miles from home! Well maybe a winning a race 5 miles from home would be better – but alas it was not to be this week. Still, it was a good race with a small but strong field. There were lots of attacks early that ended up eventually splitting the field. A Texas Roadhouse rider and a Jittery Joe’s rider slipped off the front of the group. It looked like there was a chance we might reel them back in when we lapped the field. Unfortunately, we ran out of laps and I could only manage fourth in the field sprint, which meant 8th in the race because another two riders had attacked with one to go and managed to just barely stay away too.
